[ARCHIVED] Recreation Center COVID-19 Update

Dear Recreation Center Members and Guests,

The Town of Snowmass Village and Recreation Center staff is actively monitoring and increasing the cleanliness and cleaning procedures of our buildings, programs, and services.  As with all public facilities, we are continuing to utilize best practices when cleaning and disinfecting our facilities for all users and guests.

Our current Recreation Center cleaning procedures include continuous cleaning and disinfecting of shared surfaces and objects that are touched frequently.  The facility and its equipment are cleaned throughout the day and again after the facility is closed. However, understanding the importance of cleanliness, the Recreation Center Staff has committed to significantly increasing our cleaning and disinfecting efforts.  This will not only help address current COVID-19 health concerns, but it will help ensure the facility is in great shape moving forward.

As always, hand sanitizer and disinfecting gym wipes are readily available for cleaning machines and mats before and after usage. We are encouraging all guests to use them frequently, and we have signage in place to remind users to wash hands, cover their mouths when sneezing or coughing, and to wipe down equipment before and after use.  Although COVID-19 is not transmitted through sweat, we are taking these precautionary measures and respectfully request all guests to do the same.  This includes the following common best practices that are also used to prevent the spread of flu and the common cold:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If not available, use hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home while you are sick and avoid close contact with others
  • Cover your mouth/nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing
  • Use gym wipes and cleaning supplies to disinfect the equipment thoroughly before and after use

Continuing to take advantage of our services and equipment is a great way to alleviate stress during this uncertain time. You can trust that we are doing all that we can to prioritize your health and safety while still operating at a high level and making these services available.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the information below.
