inverted row

Move of the Month

Certified Personal Trainer Zoran Vujic recommends the Inverted Row for upper body and core strength. To book a personal training session please call the Snowmass Village Recreation Center at 970-922-2240 or email Jocelyn Ritti, Recreation Center Manager at

To perform the Inverted Row:
To begin, set up a bar in a rack at waist height.

  1. Hold the bar with hands shoulder width apart using an overhand grip. Position yourself with heels out in front of you and arms fully extended. Your body should be straight from the shoulders to the ankles.
  2. Flex at the elbows to pull your chest up to the bar. Lower yourself back to the start position under control.
  3. Perform 8-12 reps. Repeat 2-3 sets as long as you can maintain proper form.

Fatten up your Salads

In a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers at Iowa State University found that subjects who ate salads with healthy oils, such as, olive oil ,avocado oil and nuts, absorbed several key nutrients and antioxidants, including beta-carotene, vitamin E, vitamin K and lycopene better. These nutrients are fat-soluble and benefit from being paired with a source of fat. Adding healthy fats to roasted vegetables will also help your body absorb more nutrition.
